Holy Mary of Guadalupe

Mother of God

Holy Mary of Guadalupe image represents a pregnant woman. She wears a black belt, an Aztec symbol of maternity. She is carrying in her womb the “High Priest”, Jesus. Furthermore, she represents giving birth to all predestined and, in particular, all the priests. Therefore, her role is to protect all her children in special to preserve their Sacramental life. Our Lady of Guadalupe introduced herself to St. Juan Diego on Saturday December 9, 1531 as “the perfect and ever virgin holy Mary, mother of the true God”, the fist Marian Dogma. The first and foremost revealed truth about our Blessed Mother, from which all her other roles and honors flow (Immaculate (perfect) and Virgin) is that she is the Mother of God. The title “Mother of God” points to the sublime truth of the incarnation, that Jesus Christ is true God and True man.
The Church celebrates this mystery of our Catholic faith on January 1st. The Church constantly proclaims this truth and call to her Divine maternity. It is the case when we pray the second part of the Hail Mary (Holy Mary, Mother of God, Pray for…)
Mary, as the mother of life urges every member of the faithful to accept the gift of life with wonder and gratitude, from conception to its natural death. The Gospel of life that the Message of Guadalupe gives needs to be spread around the whole world. The world is suffering from a culture of death brought about by contraception, abortion, the push for embryonic stem cell research, euthanasia etc. Through her protection and intercession there is hope to end the culture of death and to safeguard the basic structure of the society; the family, damaged by pornography, homosexuality, divorce etc
.
Pope John PaulII in 1999 entrusted the cause of life to her lovingprotection, and placed under her motherly care the innocent lives of children, especially those who are in danger of not being born.
Holy Mary of Gudalupe, The Star of Evangelization December, 9 1531 (then the feast of the Immaculate Conception, now the Feast of Saint Juan Diego) opened a new era of evangelization in the history of the Church. The Apparition, message and her beloved image brought a powerful and simple catechism that opened the hearts of 9 million in Mexico to convert and receive the Gospel of Life. The same message today contains the potential to convert many souls. This message has the supernatural grace to open the hearts of all that are exposed to it.
With confident on the word of Pio XII “We are certain that as long as You (Holy Mary of Guadalupe) are recognized as Queen and Mother, Mexico and America will be safe” preserve the faith and strength communion not only in the Archdiocese of Atlanta, but also around the nation and on the American Continent.
The recognitions and honors given to the Mother of God, Holy Mary of Guadalupe through the centuries are numerous. On August 24, 1910 Pope Pius X, patron saint of our beloved Archdiocese, proclaimed her Patroness of the Americas. His vision and guidance united the people on the American Continent under the mantel of Holy Mary of Guadalupe “who is in fact, was and continues to be the Star of Evangelization, who with her presence and protection continues to nurture the Faith and strengthen ecclesial Communion” (Pope John Paul II). The Patronage of Our Lady of Guadalupe over the American continents comes from her important role in evangelization through the years in America. Our Lady of Guadalupe is a key point in the new millennium for the new evangelization. She will bring a new era of evangelization in the history of the Holy Catholic Church which will not be limited to America, but to all Continents. For that reason and many others the work of Vitae Trinitariae was entrusted and consecrated to her on December 9 2005
